In the Trapp group, we’re interested in:
- Dynamics and observations of mesoscale-convective processes (tornadoes, hailstorms, damaging MCSs)
- Regional climate modeling, climate attribution
- Assessment of extreme weather and climate risk; extreme weather resiliency
- Mesoscale predictability
The current projects in our group are:
- Quantifications of convective dynamics using satellite- and radar-remote sensing
- The effect of global climate change on convective storms & associated hazardous weather
- Tornado formation within quasi-linear convective systems
- Severe wind generation in derecho events
- Tornado prediction using weather regimes.
